Good news! A resource to complement Inevitable is on its way! Authors Chuck Schwahn and Bea McGarvey are creating a stir in the education community with their vision for Mass Customized Learning (MCL). The vision makes so much sense. The vision is obvious. Clearly, the vision is inevitable. As a result, school leaders are responding with enthusiasm. They recognize the constraints of the traditional school structure and they want to make strides toward the MCL vision. They are looking for opportunities and strategies to ramp in to the MCL vision in compelling ways with maximum impact.
That is where the Fieldbook comes into play. It is resource for school leaders focused on implementing a mass customized delivery system for learning. Designed “for the field and from the field,” the Fieldbook offers practical and insightful ideas, information, and tools from experienced practitioners. As valued colleagues of Chuck and Bea and champions of MCL, the Fieldbook authors share their best thinking and invite the contributions of other movers and shakers in the field. As the Fieldbook evolves, it will be a living document that incorporates and builds on learnings from work in the field.
Via this link, you just accessed a sampling of the resources that will be available through the Fieldbook. Take a look and you will find a potpourri of ideas and strategies which might be a fit for you and your school. When the publication is released next summer, it will present a comprehensive collection of resources aligned with a rubric that advances the MCL vision. Feel free to take advantage of this sampler and share with others the potential of this practical resource. Be among those progressive school leaders who recognize the inevitability of MCL and are positioned to provide leadership for embracing and implementing the vision.
